Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the Steprise App and all related services. By using the app, you accept these terms.

2. Service Description

Steprise is an alarm app with integrated movement challenges. The app allows users to set an alarm and specify a certain number of steps within a set time period as a condition for deactivating the alarm. If the challenge is not met, either a monetary amount becomes due or an accountability buddy is notified.

3. Terms of Use

3.1. Using the app requires a compatible mobile device and an active internet connection.
3.2. The user is responsible for the accuracy of their information.
3.3. The use of the app is at your own risk.
3.4. Set alarms can only be changed within the first 5 minutes after setting or outside the user-defined security period.
3.5. The number of required steps and the time period for their completion can be set by the user.

4. Payment Terms

4.1. Upon registration, the user selects an amount that becomes due if the challenge is not met.
4.2. The amounts are collected over the month and debited once monthly.
4.3. The debit date corresponds to the registration date of the following month. For registrations on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of a month, the debit occurs on the 28th of the following month.
4.4. The debit is processed through the stored payment method.
4.5. As an alternative to the single-amount model, a subscription model with accountability buddy may be chosen in the future (feature currently not available).

5. Accountability Buddy System

5.1. In the future, there will be the option to choose an accountability buddy instead of a payment.
5.2. The accountability buddy will be automatically notified if the challenge is not met.
5.3. This feature is currently not available and will be introduced at a later date.

6. Privacy

The collection and processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which you can find in a separate document.

7. Liability

7.1. We are not liable for damages resulting from the use of the app.
7.2. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains unaffected.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be informed about changes.

9. Final Provisions

9.1. Austrian law applies.
9.2. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder of the Terms and Conditions remains unaffected.
